The four Prison Epistles are so
named because Paul wrote them while under house arrest in
Rome. Because of its unique position in the western part of
Asia Minor; and because of the city’s mixed population,
the Colossian church became a prime target for what was known
as the Colossian Heresy.
Paul’s letter to the Colossians
addresses this heresy. The church in Ephesus was the foremost
church in Asia; and more is known about them than any other
New Testament church. Although Paul’s letter to them
addresses no specific problem, find out in this series why
it has been called ‘The most majestic of all the epistles’;
‘The Alps of the New Testament’; ‘The Grand
Canyon of Scripture’; ‘The Royal Capstone of the
Epistles’and so much more. Paul’s letter to Philemon
is the shortest and the most intimate of all his letters.
It is a masterpiece of courtesy, tact and even playful wit;
and is a great example of intercession – a deep revelation
of Christ at work in His people’s lives. Why the Philippian
church had a special place in Paul’s heart. His letter
to them is one of his most pleasant; and one of the easiest
to understand, yet he does not know how to end it! It addresses
the two great themes of joy and fellowship.
In this series, you will learn:
