YOU ARE IN: CHURCH: LEADERS
The Team: CELL GROUP NETWORK
The Leader: Barry Trim
Team mission:
Cell Groups are small gatherings of people (members and others) who meet in a home setting on a regular basis to fellowship, have fun, get to know each other, build each other up and grow in their walk with God. We want to see people develop in their faith: those who are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God (Psalm 92:13)
Team objectives:
To enhance believers' realtionship with Christ and each other through:
- Fellowship
• People thrive on relationships and the Cell Group is the place to really get to know other;
• A place to offer and receive practical help and assistance e.g. moving homes, settling into a new community etc.
- Pastoral Care
• The Senior Pastor alone cannot care for everybody adequately so the Cell Group is a ‘church within a church’ to ensure no one is left behind.
• The Cell Group is one of our key way of showing that ‘you are indeed valued not numbered’.
- Discipleship
• Discipleship is not complete with Sunday services alone and we are accountable to God for the souls He gives us.
• Cell Groups are where we get up close and personal to be able to effect or receive help towards change, especially on personal issues.
- Outreach
•The Cell Group is one of the most powerful forums of outreach - people often get saved because they see others get saved.
Barry Trim says:
In order to get the most out of life:
•Write a life plan – visualise where you want to be and write a plan to take you there.
•Focus on your strengths – learn what you are good at and then use your strengths to the maximum.
•Believe that you can succeed – God believes in you so you should believe in you also.
Everyday Life
I have been happily married for 10 years to a wonderful lady called Tosin and we have a young son called Nathaniel. I work as a Project Manager for an IT Consultancy.
Entertainment
I enjoy watching most types of sports, with my favourites sport being American Football, basketball and athletics. I enjoy watching comedy programs and listening to Gospel music (Fred Hammond being my favourite Gospel artist), Jazz, 70’s funk and 80’s soul and electro funk classics.
Book recommendation to other leaders:
Two of the best books that I have read are:
Thinking for a Change by John Maxwell.
The Road Less Travelled by M Scott Peck.
Interests outside church, work and family:
Travelling (although I haven’t had much time to do this recently), good food and socialising.
