The Joseph Of Your Destiny

Foundation Scripture: Genesis 30:25

In order to move from one level of glory to the next, it is critical that a destiny helper is released by God into our lives. Those people we consider successful in life, whether in ministry or in the secular are simply surrounded by great people. Ecclesiastes 9:11 reads: ‘The race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to men of understanding, nor favour to men of skill; but time and chance happen to them all’. The difference between a hardworking successful person and a hardworking ineffective person can simply be traced to the presence or absence of good people in their lives, respectively.
Regardless of the level of a person’s ideas or intelligence, or the grace and anointing to fulfil a task, regardless of how resourceful and sophisticated such a person may be, a God-ordained ‘Joseph’ is still an important link in fulfilling destiny. In other words, we all need a ‘Joseph’ in our lives. Jesus Christ, our Lord was anointed and full of grace and truth. He is the only begotten son of God, unequalled and unparalleled, yet he had to be introduced to the world by John the Baptist. Conversely, we all then need destiny helpers as well. I declare in Jesus name, that God will surround you and your destiny in every area of your life with a ‘Joseph’. May he release the right people that will convey you to the next level of your life in Jesus name!
The omniscient, omnipotent God gained access to our world by virgin birth – Jesus was born by Immaculate Conception. A destiny helper could be God’s answer to the requests that we’ve placed before Him. As a matter of fact, some of the celebrities in our world today may arguably not be the best in their field. We celebrate them today, because someone discovered and validated them. Hence, regardless of what you may think of your capabilities, when your God-ordained ‘Joseph’ is released into your life, you will unequivocally go very far.
One of the greatest assets in life is good relationships with people. One connection with the right person can change a person’s life forever. Genesis 30:25 describes the birth of Joseph in scriptures. Subsequently, his father’s life was turned around as a result of his birth. ‘And it came to pass, when Rachel had borne Joseph, that Jacob said to Laban, “Send me away, that I may go to my own place and to my country’. After 23 years of slavery in Laban’s house and of placing aside his patriarchal blessings passed down to him by his father Isaac, Jacob realised shortly after the birth of his eleventh son, Joseph that it was time to change his lifestyle. It was undoubtedly motivated by God with the arrival of Jacob’s ‘Joseph’. I pray that from today as the right people arrive in your life, you will begin to see opportunities that you hardly saw before now. All barriers and restrictions are removed in Jesus name! While the Joseph in the Old Testament is a person, Joseph in the New Testament is an office.
Joseph’s biography is an interesting one. His birth heralded the movement of Jacob back to Canaan after several years of servitude in Laban’s field. Several years later, after Joseph had been falsely accused by Potiphar’s wife and thrown into prison, it seemed as if nothing could be worse at that point. However, his life was to be turned around shortly after the butler who had forgotten about him for two years suddenly remembered him. He was then brought forward to interpret Pharaoh’s dream. I declare that those you have been gracious to in the past, and have forgotten about you and all you did will be reminded by God, in Jesus name!
Another great reason why Joseph significance in history, cannot be denied was because of the Israelites. His God-given ability to interpret Pharaoh’s dream was ultimately to preserve the human race from the famine that could easily have ravaged and destroyed mankind in the era. Conversely, God has preserved this apostate generation simply because of the Church. So then, Joseph was in prison unaware that his life was about to change in a couple of hours. I can imagine the news reaching him at dawn that he was to be presented before Pharaoh. His prison clothes, torn and tattered were soon replaced with a princely robe, after washing and shaving. I declare that the last shall become the first in Jesus name! As a result of Joseph’s interpretation of the king’s dream, his life changed. Genesis 41:42-45 gives us the full details: ‘Then Pharaoh took his signet ring off his hand and put it on Joseph’s hand; and he clothed him in garments of fine linen and put a gold chain around his neck. And he had him ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried out before him, “Bow the knee!” So he set him over all the land of Egypt. Pharaoh also said to Joseph, “I am Pharaoh, and without your consent no man may lift his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt.” And Pharaoh called Joseph’s name Zaphnath-Paaneah. And he gave him as a wife Asenath, the daughter of Poti-Pherah priest of On. So Joseph went out over all the land of Egypt. The interpretation of the name ‘Zaphnath-Paaneah’ is ‘The Saviour of the world’.
The role of ‘Joseph’ continued in the New Testament. Here is Matthew 1:16; ‘And Jacob begot Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus who is called Christ’. By way of digression, if God will give you a good person, you must pray for such a person from God. Paul’s epistle to Philemon gives us an insight into this: ‘But, meanwhile, also prepare a guest room for me, for I trust that through your prayers I shall be granted to you’ (Philemon 1:22). The story of the man by the pool of Bethsaida in John 5:5-7 emphasizes this. Here is the story in full: “Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?” The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me.” Regardless of the prophecy spoken into our lives, we nonetheless need the right people in our lives to bring those words to fruition. Every resource in life that we need is in the custody of another person. May God bring you in contact with such people in Jesus name!
Mary, the mother of Jesus was betrothed to Joseph, when she was found to be with child. It took a special person like Joseph to keep that ‘scandal’ under wraps till Jesus was born. The fulfilment of prophecy and the subsequent assignment of Jesus were kept intact because of the discretion of Joseph.
The Psalms record the words of Jesus, as spoken by David: ‘He guards all his bones; not one of them is broken’ (Psalm 34:20). One of the traditions of the Roman soldiers during a crucifixion is to break the bones of a criminal to certify his death. Another Joseph was used by God to bring these words to pass: Joseph of Arimathea. Joseph was a member of the council that sentenced Jesus to death, yet his decision to bring Jesus down from the cross, shortly after Jesus’ death fulfilled these words that had been spoken thousands of years before then. The tomb that Joseph had prepared for his burial accommodated Jesus body. ‘For every prophecy in the Spirit realm, unfulfilled up until now, I declare that God will release a ‘Joseph’ that will play their part in bringing those words to pass in Jesus name!’ May your reach your next level, and may your favour not be denied in Jesus name!
Job 12:2 reads: “No doubt you are the people, and wisdom will die with you! This scripture warns us of the possibility of living in the midst of plenty and suffering from poverty. May this not be your portion in Jesus name! I pray that as God releases grace and glory, may you enjoy your own portion in Jesus name.
